You’re probably hearing all the buzz about Google’s newest product, Google Drive. It’s the long anticipated redesign of Google Docs; a cloud storage solution for documents, photos, music, and videos.

Our client WeVideo was chosen as a Google Drive launch partner because the combination unlocks some amazing potential in the cloud. With WeVideo’s Chrome browser app, you can take the videos on your Google Drive and edit them into polished productions. Check out the video for more about that.

WeVideo approached us to create a video that explains how users can utilize both WeVideo and Google Drive. The strategy was to release the video alongside Google’s big press push, so that while the spotlight is on Google Drive, WeVideo will also get some time to shine. To establish a look for this video, built upon our previous WeVideo branded animations, and incorporated Google’s bold and colorful design elements.

Back in February, Yahoo asked us to film an event called Hackday. It’s described as a “24 Hour Hackathon” where employees at all levels get together and build out their ideas to show Yahoo. The panel of judges then chooses the best hacks and potentially gives them resources for continued development. It’s a great method Yahoo uses to generate new ideas.

While we were there, we shot numerous interviews; from recently hired developers to top level executives. We collected content for numerous videos and have created two very strong pieces we’re hoping to show you. The videos are currently being used internally, and once we’re cleared to post them, we will add them here.

Yup, we have one, and it’s sitting on our desk right now, silently judging the 7Ds next to it.

Last week we received our new workhorse at Glass & Marker: the RED Scarlet.  If you haven’t heard about the RED camera line, it’s the new big thing in high end digital production.  It shoots at a resolution that is two times that of standard HD and has a sensor that is capable of an amazing amount of detail in both shadows and highlights.

We’re happy to now offer our clients the benefits of the RED workflow.  Along with better image quality, the Scarlet opens up new options for video distribution.  With the higher resolution, we can now shoot commercials that can be shown in movie theaters and on broadcast TV.

Armed with our education in film production, experience in commercial production, and the new RED Scarlet; we are going to make some stellar stuff.  Sure, our CFO its still recovering from seeing the damage it did to our bank account, but we’re confident that after a couple months of intense therapy he’ll be able to breathe again without all those tubes.

The great thing about working with WeVideo is that we’re also the prime audience to be using their cloud video editing platform. We wanted to give their system a test drive, so while shooting the first commercial, we turned the cameras on ourselves and made this behind the scenes look at how WeVideo can be a powerful tool for consumers and pros alike. We took the challenge to see if we could use their platform to make the commercial in just 24 hours. The ability to remotely upload footage from multiple locations let us split up into different teams and shoot simultaneously, while being able to edit throughout the day. You’ve seen the result, now take a look at how it came together.

Our client, WeVideo, asked us to create a flagship video for their product, that demonstrated how it worked and established a style for their brand.  They recently partnered with YouTube to have their cloud video editing tool integrated in YouTube’s platform.  We wanted to do something more than your standard screencast, so we spiced it up by breaking apart all the various windows and animating them in 3d, with custom graphics and animations making up a considerable chunk of the runtime.  The video lives on Youtube’s partner page, and was featured on TechCrunch and other video news channels.

For our launch, we wanted to create a video to explain our company philosophy and demonstrate our filmmaking abilities. The result was a collaborative effort from all three of the founders. We were surprised by the direction the video ended up taking. We don’t want to give anything away, but about five minutes in it takes an unexpected turn involving broadswords, trench coats, and gratuitous amounts of lens flare.

Yet Another Meeting (yaM) is a web based meeting management company that helps people organize and run meetings. With yaM, each member of a meeting sees the same screen on their laptop and has access to an assortment of tools like a digital whiteboard, cost/benefit analysis, charts, and voting.

yaM gave us a ton of freedom when coming up with big ideas. In this case, they really wanted us to make something that was a very different approach. So we decided to take it to the next level. We posed the question, “What would happen if the Russian mob used yaM to run their criminal meetings?”

One of our clients is the up-and-coming, online video-editing platform, WeVideo. We really welcomed the idea of working with a company whose story we understood so well. They basically offer the ability to do all of your video editing through the cloud!

They came to us looking for a way to spread the word about their platform in a commercial that could be used to reach a couple different demographics. So we created a short online video that would explain the benefits of WeVideo to people in their target markets.

For Jacqueline Willemsen, her favorite part about working at Yahoo! is the people, people who become not just co-workers but family. She believes that it’s not just about the work, but about the people and the connection that she makes with her clients and co-workers.

We wanted to create Jacqueline’s vision of Yahoo! in a documentary style video for their Careers department. This “day in the life” video of Jacqueline’s experience as a Yahoo! employee embodies her statement that “The typical day at Yahoo! is not typical. I love that energy and I think I thrive for that type of energy… That fast pace and it’s so nice to be surprised and challenged, it makes you grow.”
